Emma Davey has demonstrated a strong commitment to student leadership by rising through the ranks of the Gonzaga Student Body Association (GSBA) before being elected president for the 2026–2027 academic year. Her journey from joining as a freshman representative and to now leading the organization as a senior reflects her dedication to serving students and fostering meaningful campus engagement. Throughout her campaign, she emphasized transparency, accessibility, and creativity, highlighting her desire to create a student government that is approachable and responsive to the needs of the student body. Emma has balanced her studies in Political Science with student government, internships, and other responsibilities while continuing to do well academically. This reflects the work ethic and commitment needed to be an effective student leader.

Bianca Romero has dedicated her career to developing student leaders and fostering meaningful campus engagement at Bay Path University. A Bay Path alumna and former Student Government Association president, she has continued to serve the university in professional leadership roles, where she advises student government, supports residence life, and creates opportunities for students to grow both personally and professionally. Her journey from student leader to higher education administrator reflects her long-standing commitment to servant leadership and mentorship. Through her work, Romero has helped cultivate an inclusive campus community while encouraging students to become engaged, confident leaders. Her impact on student success and leadership development has also been recognized beyond campus, including being named one of BusinessWest’s 40 Under Forty.

Throughout the last school year, the Florida Gateway College Student Government Association demonstrated an outstanding commitment to student engagement, campus involvement, and student representation. What sets Florida Gateway College SGA apart is the breadth and consistency of its programming. Throughout the year, the organization hosted a number of signature events and activities designed to bring students together and strengthen campus community. From Welcome Back celebrations, Coffee & Donuts, Trivia Days, and Waffle Wednesday to Build-a-Bouquet, Mardi Gras festivities, Hot Chocolate Bar, S’mores Bar, and collaborative events with Athletics, the Florida Gateway College SGA has created numerous opportunities for students to connect, participate, and enjoy campus life.

After rising through Student Government leadership, Jemima George now serves as President of the Augusta Student Government Association while also serving as Vice Chair of the University of Maine System General Assembly, representing students across multiple campuses. Drawing on her own journey of finding her place on campus, she has entered the presidency with a collaborative leadership style and a commitment to making Student Government approachable, encouraging students to get involved, and ensuring it remains engaged and responsive to student needs.

For years, Dan Mitsven has served as a steady mentor and advocate for student leaders at Lone Star College-CyFair. As Director of Student Life and Permanent Advisor to the Student Government Association at Lone Star College-CyFair, Dan Mitsven has built a culture of student leadership that extends well beyond SGA. He supports student government and mentors numerous student organizations while providing the structure and guidance that allows student leaders to thrive. His commitment to student engagement, leadership development, and meaningful collaboration has helped create an environment where students are empowered to lead and make a lasting impact on campus.

Texas Tech University Student Government Association is being recognized for its professionalism, institutional involvement, and commitment to serving students through consistent leadership, strong organizational structure, and active campus representation. Texas Tech SG maintains an outstanding web presence that is transparent, easy to access, and constantly updated, featuring many rare historical documents that reflect a strong commitment to institutional memory and the preservation of student government history. The organization’s professionalism and structure reflect values that other student governments should aspire to.

Allie Waxman is being recognized for her leadership, campus engagement, and commitment to representing student voices at Lafayette College. Through a collaborative leadership style, Waxman has worked to put student organizations and her constituents at the forefront of student government. She was elected during one of Lafayette’s most competitive and highest-turnout student government elections in nearly a decade.

Dan Kelley is being recognized for his longstanding commitment to student government and his dedication to strengthening leadership development and institutional continuity. Having served as Student Government Advisor for more than a decade, Kelly has played an important role in improving transition processes and helping student leaders build a stronger organizational foundation. For example, he has also helped their SG develop a well-executed gala inauguration ceremony. His impact on the organization at MTSU does not go unnoticed!

Illinois Institute of Technology attended the ASGA Spring Summit in mid-April and showed a strong interest in improving their web presence. Representatives from their SGA sat in on a session, were open to feedback from ASGA Leadership, and took the time to understand areas for improvement. Their willingness to engage with constructive criticism and commit to strengthening their web presence, which serves as their primary connection to campus, stood out. A willingness to learn, understand feedback, and make improvements are core to effective student government leadership, all of which they demonstrated in this session. Other members from their delegation were also highly engaged throughout the conference as well.

As SG President at Tiffin University, Demi Brown brought a high level of energy and engagement to the ASGA Spring Summit in mid-April. Her willingness to participate and connect with peers set a strong example, and earning the highest score in ASGA game show history speaks to knowledge of student government trends, facts and history. Demi is a clear example of an engaged, knowledgeable student leadership in action.

Veronica Gerosimo, Assistant Dean of Student Life and Leadership at Hudson County Community College, demonstrated her commitment to student government by welcoming ASGA to host a conference on campus and actively participating in workshops. With 10 years of service to her SGA, her support reflects a genuine investment in student leadership and creating meaningful opportunities for students..
