Every month, ASGA honors exceptional Student Governments, Presidents, and Advisors from across the nation. These awards celebrate the people and organizations making a real difference on their campuses. Any member institution is eligible to nominate.

Winners are featured on the ASGA website and promoted across local, national and college media, as well as social media. Past winners are archived on the Past Monthly Awards page.

Florida Gateway CollegeThroughout the last school year, the Florida Gateway College Student Government Association demonstrated an outstanding commitment to student engagement, campus involvement, and student representation. What sets Florida Gateway College SGA apart is the breadth and consistency of its programming. Throughout the year, the organization hosted a number of signature events and activities designed to bring students together and strengthen campus community. From Welcome Back celebrations, Coffee & Donuts, Trivia Days, and Waffle Wednesday to Build-a-Bouquet, Mardi Gras festivities, Hot Chocolate Bar, S’mores Bar, and collaborative events with Athletics, the Florida Gateway College SGA has created numerous opportunities for students to connect, participate, and enjoy campus life. |
SG President of the Month
Jemima GeorgeUniversity of Maine at Augusta After rising through Student Government leadership, Jemima George now serves as President of the Augusta Student Government Association while also serving as Vice Chair of the University of Maine System General Assembly, representing students across multiple campuses. Drawing on her own journey of finding her place on campus, she has entered the presidency with a collaborative leadership style and a commitment to making Student Government approachable, encouraging students to get involved, and ensuring it remains engaged and responsive to student needs. |
SG Advisor of the Month
Dan MitsvenLone Star College-CyFair For years, Dan Mitsven has served as a steady mentor and advocate for student leaders at Lone Star College-CyFair. As Director of Student Life and Permanent Advisor to the Student Government Association at Lone Star College-CyFair, Dan Mitsven has built a culture of student leadership that extends well beyond SGA. He supports student government and mentors numerous student organizations while providing the structure and guidance that allows student leaders to thrive. His commitment to student engagement, leadership development, and meaningful collaboration has helped create an environment where students are empowered to lead and make a lasting impact on campus. |
